LEARNING ADVENTURES FOR THE WEEK:
Our theme for the week is Body Parts and The Five Senses.   We will explore different textures, sounds, smells and tastes.  We will also practice saying our days of the week and months of the year.

-Our letters for the week are “Ee” and “Ff” and numbers 5 and 6.  We will discuss objects and names that begin with each letter.  Children learn so much and can read so much at this age already simply from the world around them through sight words.  Help us build our letter collage by sending in word clippings/labels of household items beginning with the letters we have covered so far “A through F”   (ie Applesauce, Burger King, Cheerios, Danimals, Eggos, French’s, etc)  We will start doing this each week with the letters of the week. I can’t wait to see how many different words the children will find! Thank you!

- One-to-one correspondence is the math concept of the week. We are also exploring AB patterns (alternating back and forth between two colors, ie red/green/red/green/red/green).

It's Back to School/Getting to Know You Week 8/14-8/18/18

We had a fabulous first day on Friday!  I am so excited to begin exploring the great outdoors and more with this class!  It's going to be a great year!

This week we will be learning about our new friends in our class and discussing proper classroom behaviors, routines and procedures.  Please return the "All About Me" page no later than Wednesday 8/16.

We will begin letter and number awareness  with introduction to letters Aa and Bb and numbers 1 and 2.  We will discuss objects and names that begin with each letter.  We will begin  introducing/reviewing  colors and shapes.

Our math concept for the week is One-to-one correspondence. We are also exploring AB patterns.

We will always incorporate important character traits into our learning as well. We will work on sharing and taking turns this week.

Welcome to K4!
It's going to be a great year in our Kindergarten Wing!  We are going to have a fun-filled year of exploring, learning and growing in K4.
I look forward to meeting each of you and your families at the Back to School Bash, and I can't wait to see all of their bright little faces on next Friday morning.
Check back here regularly for updates and also be on the lookout for an invite to our group Facebook page!
And thank you, in advance, for sharing your children with me and allowing me the opportunity to get to know your little ones and love them like my own!  I can't wait to see what this year holds for us all!
